Thirty nine\u00a0years separate these songs\u00a0from each other, but the mood and empathy\u00a0in each track blends perfectly into a storm of sorrow\u00a0and desolation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.spotify.com\/?uri=spotify:track:5VIUgXP2Ilc4TJ2ralftmY\" width=\"300\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowtransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you listen to &#8220;Berlin&#8221; \u2013 the opening song\u00a0from <strong>Lou Reed\u00b4s<\/strong> seminal album of the same name \u2013 there\u00b4s just a heartbroken\u00a0and solitary\u00a0piano that, along with <strong>Lou\u00b4s<\/strong>\u00a0severe tones and agonizing lyrics, tears your emotions.\u00a0In this essential piece of recorded noise,\u00a0<strong>Lou Reed<\/strong> takes as an influence, the european romanticism\u00a0and West\u00a0Berlin\u00b4s bohemia to\u00a0elevate his poetry into a cabaret-like tale full of claustrophobia. &#8220;Berlin&#8221; still recalls the\u00a0<strong>Velvets<\/strong>\u00b4ultra realistic NY junkie poetry, but with a different approach. This time, <strong>Reed<\/strong> take as a pattern, the destructive relationship between Caroline and Jim while living in Berlin. A story that throughout the full album, becomes a memoir of \u00a0drug addiction, violence and suicide between a disastrous couple. In &#8220;Berlin&#8221;, there\u00b4s no way to go other than\u00a0to recall those moments when you miss somebody\u00a0that\u00b4s gone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Iggy Pop<\/strong> achieves a similar effect\u00a0with a softer, but desolate affair in &#8220;Only The Lonely&#8221;, from <em>Apr<span style=\"color: #545454;\">\u00e8s \u2013\u00a0<\/span><\/em>his second and fully French-like album in less than 4 years. Also influenced by a\u00a0classy European sound of dark nightclubs and bohemia, it feels that this song has the same pace\u00a0than <strong>Reed\u00b4s <\/strong>melancholic and tragic story along with\u00a0similarities on the spooky\u00a0and silent production, and a haunting piano mixed with <strong>Pop\u00b4s<\/strong>\u00a0rancid but gentle voice full of wisdom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Melodically and lyrically, both songs have a correlation. From small caf\u00e9s, to picnics in the beach as the places where our heroes recall their\u00a0feelings and memories. From &#8220;a love that used to be&#8221; to a love that will be missed when\u00b4s gone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Two dark, haunting, simple and claustrophobic tracks.
