Just think in the greats: <strong>Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey, Sam Cooke, Nina Simone, Roy Orbison, Billie Holiday, Roberta Flack, Ella Fitzgerald\u00a0<\/strong>and an infinite etcetera. When a true artist stands in front of an audience at its most vulnerable with nothing but the unpredictable possibilities of the voice, something magical happens. When they are truly exposed to the eyes of the public in a small venue with nothing to offer but their vocal chords, is when popular music becomes more valuable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She came in good spirits, eloquently humorous, and with a sharp voice that could easily put on shame some of the current (and past) &#8220;big shots&#8221; of the music industry. Accompanied by\u00a0<strong>Simon Wallace\u00b4s\u00a0<\/strong>delightful piano,<strong>\u00a0Barb Jungr\u00a0<\/strong>presented her latest work entitled,\u00a0<a href=\"\/?p=3152\"><em>Hard Rain \u2013\u00a0<\/em>a beautiful reinterpretation<\/a> of\u00a0<strong>Dylan<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Cohen\u00b4s<\/strong>\u00a0inteligencia \u00a0into a northern soul, cabaret-like style.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.spotify.com\/?uri=spotify:album:0wvrmGytvsTomYKgdMlilL\" width=\"300\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowtransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From exhaustive pieces like \u201cIt\u00b4s Alright Ma\u201d, and the 47 verses in \u201cChimes Of Freedom&#8221;; to <strong>Cohen\u00b4s<\/strong> delicate but stinging moments like\u00a0\u201cWho By Fire\u201d, &#8220;The Land Of Plenty&#8221;, and\u00a0a jazzy version of\u00a0\u201cFirst We Take Manhattan\u201d \u2013 introduced ironically by <strong>Barb<\/strong> as\u00a0a &#8220;lovely song about the holocaust\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From\u00a0the\u00a0cabaretesque versions of \u201cTimes Have Changed\u201d and \u201cBlind Willie McTell\u00b4s\u201d, to <strong>Dylan <\/strong>and<strong> Cohen\u00b4s<\/strong> at their darkest and most acid in \u201cMasters Of War\u201d and \u201cThe Future\u201d, respectively. From the timeless political classic of &#8220;Blowin\u00b4 In The Wind&#8221; to the sexual connotations of &#8220;One Thousand Kisses Deep&#8221;.
